„Vom Wald der Herzöge“ Ternell
From Haus Ternell, the path immediately leads into the large forest. In the Osthertogenwald forest, beech and oak trees create a wonderful autumn atmosphere. An abundance of mushrooms line the path at our feet. In the hollow of the valley, we come across the Hill. The course of this stream, with its black and very acidic water, once formed a borderline: the boundary stones you cross on your way formed the border with Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. Let yourself be enchanted by the path along the hill! The wild path impressively follows the river and leads here and there through steep and sloping passages. A hike for the more athletic among us. Halfway along, the path climbs steeply. You cross the Monschauerstraße. From here, the hiking trail leads into a new valley formed by the Getzbach, which flows into the lake downstream. Here the valley is narrower and darker. Shortly after the wooden bridge, you return to the wide, spruce-covered plains.
