Weißer Zauber
The winter light, drenched in sleet, combines with a clean and dry air on this early January that has not let us down. Mürringen, located on the border of the country, knows a real winter! The path is covered in snow and becomes a real slope, so we could have put on snowshoes. On the "Auf'm Herschelt" path, you can feel the force of the cold turning the branches of the fir trees into stone. After leaving the ridge, a pleasant valley begins, through which the Jansbach flows.
The descent is long and is always accompanied by the enchanting murmur of the stream. This is where the ascent begins. Your legs get heavy in the snow. The higher you go up, the more you feel the effect of the east wind, which has powdered the icy treetops with snow. From the summit, the path leads down along the Edesbach stream: The Wolfsseif forest covers a rugged relief. These twelve kilometers are very varied and leave no room for boredom. The wind makes our smiles freeze on our lips: We are happy to have crossed one of the most beautiful regions in the country on foot in the middle of winter.
