With Setterich Castle, the former Setterich windmill and Baesweiler Castle, we pass three historically significant buildings along the way, where further steles provide us with exciting information about their past, before reaching the next spoil tip, Carl-Alexander-Park. The impressive ascent of the slag heap and a fantastic viewing platform invite you to walk up the slag heap and marvel at the rest of the route from above. A mansio has also been erected at the foot of the slag heap and an information point provides information about the local settlement landscape in Roman times.
