RurUfer Radweg (Südliche Rurseeschleife)
The route of the RurUfer cycle path is as varied as the watercourse: sometimes it flows gently, sometimes it leaves rushing heights behind it. The cycle route leads via the former cloth-making town of Monschau to Einruhr through the picturesque Rur valley. Finally, the route leads along the Rur lake through the Rur Eifel, past Düren with its paper mills, Jülich with the Brückenkopfpark and the citadel and finally through the Heinsberg region to Roermond. The history of water comes to life along the edge of the RurUfer cycle path: Cloth production, dams, paper production - interesting museums are waiting to bring cyclists closer to the water experience. In terms of landscape, the High Fens, unique in Europe, and the still young Eifel National Park offer a pure nature experience.
If you would like to experience the RurUfer cycle path as a multi-day tour, you can do this in a total of 3 day stages.
- Stage 1 - Signal de Brotagne - Heimbach
- Stage 2 - From Heimbach to Jülich
