The tour takes you around Baesweiler and the surrounding countryside and villages. The highlight of the tour is the Carl Alexander Park. The impressive ascent to the slag heap and a fantastic viewing platform invite you to walk up the slag heap and view the course of the cycle tour and the surrounding Börde and slag heap landscape from above. But there are also exciting things to discover away from the slag heap. At each of the seven stations there is a bench and two fruit trees from which you are welcome to snack. Information boards provide information about special features of the respective districts. Topics include wind power in Baesweiler, the Steinzeitsiedlung in Oidtweiler and the Beeckfließ in Floverich. As part of the redesign, the route, which was partly marked by very poorly recognizable ground arrow markings and not easily passable in both directions, was replaced by clear "lion" markings in both directions.
