Enjoy the hilly Eifel landscape around Kalterherberg on this approx. 19-kilometer route. You start at Ruitzhof and ride past Kalterherberg elementary school towards Perlenbach and Fuhrtsbachtal and then turn left or north towards Höfener Mühle, which is ideal for a short break.The route continues along the north bank of the Perlenbach dam to Perlenau and from here along the south bank of the Perlenbach to the Rur near Dreistegen.On the next section, you ride along the RurUfer cycle path through the idyllic Kerbtal valley of the Rur, past the cloth-making town of Monschau to the former Premonstratensian monastery of Reichenstein, whose history dates back to the 12th century. The Norbertus Chapel, built at the beginning of the 20th century and nestling on the slope near the Rur bridge, is also worth a second look. After a few kilometers, you cross over to the other side of the Rur at a ford. After crossing the Vennbahn, the tour makes a small loop in a northerly direction before returning to the starting point at the Ruitzhof.
