Jägersweiler Weg

The short hike begins at the Heilsteinbrunnen fountain in Einruhr. The refreshing water in the inner courtyard of the Heilsteinhaus should be sampled at the start of the tour, before several beautiful half-timbered houses along the way reveal the original character of Einruhr.

The route then takes you leisurely past the natural adventure pool (swimming pool) and approx. 2 km north along the shore of the Obersee.

Once you have covered about half of the route, you will leave the shore of the Rursee and can make a detour to the village of Jägersweiler from here. The village had to be abandoned in 1946 as the area was declared a restricted zone around the former Vogelsang military training area. A few of the abandoned houses are quite well preserved. A detour there is worthwhile, as we now have great views of the Obersee from the heights. However, please stay on the hiking trail in the former restricted area.

Back on the main trail, the route now leads downhill through the forest back to Einruhr.

If you want to hike a little longer, you can combine the hike with trail 35 and extend it to approx. 8 km.
