Historischer Pfad rund um den Blausteinsee
Experience a constantly changing landscape on this tour on the edge of the third largest open-cast mine in the lignite mining area. Where once there were villages and fields, there is now the approximately 100-hectare, 46-metre-deep Blausteinsee lake, offering bathing fun for the whole family.
The approx. 15 km long Historical Trail leads through a new landscape with many memories. It circles the Blaustein Lake and connects the former villages that had to make way for the advancing open-cast mine. Along the way, hikers pass the memorials to the former villages of Lürken, Langweiler, Obermerz, Laurenzberg and Langendorf. The trail also leads past the hamlets of Langweiler and Hausen, where farmers resettled in the course of open-cast mining have found a new home. A memorial stone near the L11 country road commemorates the former Hausen manor.
Our recommendation: Combine your circular tour with the great water activities on offer at Blausteinsee or simply relax after the tour in the sunshine on the terraces and promenades right by the water. The lake is an ideal bathing area for the whole family and offers a wide range of water sports: diving, sailing, surfing, swimming, canoeing and much more. The construction of the lake stage has further enhanced the leisure facilities on Lake Blaustein.
