Eine herrliche Landschaft
First you walk from Reuland towards Steffeshausen, a peaceful village at the foot of the Our. As you climb towards Kemmel, at an altitude of 510 meters, the rural atmosphere turns into a mountain landscape. Here you reach the other ancient mountain range, the Eifel. Now you enter the forest and listen to the silence. The extremely rich wetland biotope we pass is surrounded by trees. The Irmisch flows down the valley. Nutcrackers, middle spotted woodpeckers, crossbills and hawks populate the deep, dark forest that surrounds the watercourse.
Then you reach the valley of light. The path climbs again on the other bank. Extensive meadows on the heights bear witness to the still very intensive agricultural use. The path then descends again. After Bracht, you will see St. Hubertus Church in Weweler in the distance. The church, built in the late Gothic style, dates back to the 16th century and is probably one of the most beautiful in the eastern cantons.
