Durchs Wurmtal und Broichbachtal rund um Würselen
Würselen
The tour leads from Würselen Mitte through the popular recreational areas of the Wurm and Broichbach valleys and to Merzbrück airport. With its meandering river, green meadows, deciduous forests, individual farmsteads, mills and car-free route, the Wurmtal offers a unique experience of nature and landscape. The Broichbach valley also has a similarly varied and attractive landscape. It is also characterized by ponds and several recreational facilities. The coal tips in Alsdorf near the Broicher Bach stream are witnesses to the era of coal mining in the northern part of the StädteRegion, which ended not so long ago. A worthwhile destination, especially for children, is the free animal park in Alsdorf with its spacious play facilities and various animal species. From the Broichbach valley, the route leads into the wide, rather flat agricultural landscape. The Merzbrück airfield offers a completely different experience with gliders and motor planes flying low over the field path. The route also passes through smaller villages and districts such as Niederbardenberg, Wefelen, Euchen and Linden-Neusen. It offers a varied picture between settlement and countryside.
