The tour starts at Nell Breuning Haus. We first have to walk through Herzogenrath town center in the direction of Seehof. This is where the more beautiful part of the hike begins through stream valleys with small reservoirs.

After the "Talsperre Herzogenrath", the route continues on the left-hand side through woods and meadows in the direction of Alsdorfer Tierpark. Be sure to cross the B 57 by crossing underneath it. It is worth taking the route through the zoo to get to Alsdorfer Weiher. Keep to the left side of the Broicher Bach stream. An enchanted landscape awaits you in the Broichbach valley. At the Kellersberger Mühle mill, cross the road "Am Kellersberg" and walk up the left flank of the Broichbach valley. Watch out for the small path that winds up the slope on the left before the Broicher Bach (bridge) and then down again a little. You cross a forest path again along the Broichbach valley. When you reach the Broicher Weiher pond with a beautiful view of the water, keep right towards the Broicher Mühle mill, where you then turn right at an acute angle and walk back along the edge of a field on the other side of the Broichbach valley. At a T-junction, the path continues left on the (cycle) path towards Euchen and only shortly before the Gnadenhof (old railroad tracks) do you turn right towards Schleibach, which you leave on your left and continue along the path. At a Y-junction, turn left towards the riding stables and follow the route along the edge of the forest to below the settlement of Ofden. Before the B 57, turn right up a flight of steps into the forest and then keep left along the forest path towards the zoo. Continue back towards the underpass of the B57 through the Broichbach valley, this time on the other side back to the Seehof at the "Herzogenrather Talsperre".
