Beaver brooks Eifelforests (Theme-Tour 1)

In the middle of a landscape of FOREST and WATER, the fascination of WILDNIS can be experienced very close in the Eifel National Park. The National Park and its surroundings can be rediscovered again and again on well-developed, thematic hiking routes. 240 kilometres of hiking trails are open to you in the National Park.

The approx. 12 km long hike leads through the gnarled oak forests of the Hetzingen Forest and along Kaldenbach, Schliebach and Odenbach, three meandering streams of the low mountain range with their typical stony stream beds. In the summer, the mostly idyllic rippling rivulets can turn into impressive torrents during periods of high precipitation. In the oak forests of the Hetzingen Forest, attentive observers may find traces of beaver gnawing or discover other species of animals such as woodpeckers, songbirds, roe deer, deer or wild boars that are native to the area. In addition, there is a variety of insects (butterflies and beetles) that particularly feel at home in the clear-cut areas, as well as a diverse flora.
