Here, the Amel is still a stream that slowly babbles along and makes its way through the rural surroundings. And here, life still ticks to the rhythm of agriculture and livestock farming. This is particularly evident on this hike. You walk from farm to farm and reach Möderscheider Mühle, where the stream flows through the meadow and slowly gurgles along. The hamlet, which lies upstream from Möderscheid, is hidden in a small hollow. Then you have to tackle a climb to reach the heights. The landscape that reveals itself at the top radiates tranquillity, it is so wonderful and timeless. We may be walking mostly on asphalt, but these roads are lonely and deserted and don't seem to lead anywhere. On Morschheck, light floods the forest we cross. A little further past Hepscheid, the route leads through a small valley and finally to the village, which shines in the soft light of a sunny autumn day.
