4 Tälerweg
The 4 Valleys Trail impresses with its diverse flora and fauna along the hiking trails. After leaving the town center, the trail heads north along the Bosselbach stream through the green forests of the Eifel, before continuing along the meandering Tiefenbach stream through idyllic wet meadows. This is also one of the most beautiful parts of the trail. Numerous rare animal and plant species can be found along the trail, such as grey wagtails and beavers. However, only traces of the latter can be found during the day.
The trail continues over several small bridges rebuilt by the "Ru & Kall" Life+ project to the old Lukas mill. Numerous barriers that were insurmountable for brown trout and bullhead were removed as part of the EU-funded project, allowing the animals to return to their original spawning waters.
The route continues along the Kall river to the Menstrenger Mühle mill, which invites you to take a break in a fantastic location. The main house dates back to 1633, the mill building was probably built later. At that time, oil was pressed from beech hedges and grain was processed here until the 1930s. The completely original milling technology is worth seeing. The weir system and the system of reservoir, ditches and wooden channel, which ensure the mill's water supply, have been successfully reconstructed so that the mill rattles along the Kall as it did in the old days. Finally, we leave the Kall in the last section of the 11.3 km long circular trail and walk along the Richelsbach back to the starting point in Vossenack at the church.
