Wolf und Pinienzapfen

While the wolf, which is actually a bear, dates back to antiquity, the pine cone was probably cast in the 10th century. It once adorned a fountain that was located in front of the entrance to today's Aachen Cathedral. However, the two bronze figures are connected by the legendary cathedral building legend.
