Türe-Lüre-Ließje
Aachen
Little Lieschen, whining as she often did, had an urgent need and had to get home quickly. But the mischievous rascals blocked her way, so she had no choice but to crouch down in the middle of the circle and let a small stream flow there. The name of the fountain recalls the occupation of Aachen by the French from 1794 to 1814, as Türelür probably meant "always the same lyre" or "always the same whining."
