Seepferdchenbrunnen
Aachen
The seahorses were originally created by Josef Zeller for the rotunda of the Elisenbrunnen fountain in Aachen, which was rebuilt after the war. The fountain was designed by Aachen architect Gerhard Thomalla and the fountain bowl was created by Ewald Mies, a brother of Ludwig Mies-van-der-Rohe. In the 1970s, however, the fountain was moved to Burtscheider Kapellenstraße.
