Obelisk Lousberg

A heavenly view opens up from the summit plateau of the Lousberg over Aachen and its surroundings. From the Soers Valley to the Tivoli, the Aachen Forest and the beginning of the Eifel, you can let your gaze wander into the distance. This is exactly what the geographer Jean Joseph Tranchot did in 1807 and mapped the entire region from here. The large bluestone obelisk was erected here for this purpose and for further astronomical observations.
