Although the pavilion planned by Johann Josef Couven in the 18th century was originally built as a garden house for a wealthy patrician family, it was decided in 1905 to relocate it to the Lousberg, including the trellis, flight of steps and wall fountain. The hillside location fits perfectly with the architectural concept of the building, creating a harmonious picture against the backdrop of the Lousberg.
