Indemann

Inden

The Indemann is the steel landmark of Indeland. From its top viewing platform, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of a region that is constantly changing.

You have the choice: either climb the steel giant on the Goltsteinkuppe via its 216 steps or take the elevator to the eighth of twelve levels. During the ascent, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the changing region and how open-cast mining has shaped the landscape and the people. From its viewing platforms, you can experience this transformation process with your own eyes. After the end of lignite mining, a lake is to be created from the current open-cast mining hole and filling will begin in just a few years. So it's worth coming back not just once, but again and again to observe the changes up close.

The illuminated Indemann is a very special experience when over 40,000 LED lamps bathe the steel colossus in dazzling colors in the dark.

At the foot of the Indemann, soccer and mini golf, a large playground and the Gatronomy invite you to linger. The 6.5-kilometre "Past, present and future" themed route allows you to explore the industrial heritage of Inden.
