Eine Stadt im Wald - Eupen

Sensory pleasure sets in as soon as you enter the forest. Here, the deciduous forest points the way to a beautiful hike that leads to the reservoir. You walk along a well-drawn path along the emerging Weser. It leads you to a vast wooded area populated by deer and wildcats. The wildlife is omnipresent, you can literally feel it. The true picture hunter takes the time to explore the area at dawn.

A few kilometers further on, you reach the Eupen dam with its impressive dam wall. But very quickly you are immersed in nature again. The path descends and suddenly, after a bend, a lonely house appears, reminiscent of a fairy tale by Charles Perrault.
A little further on, you come to a path that becomes more paved and stony. This takes you back to Eupen. An amazingly hidden region that only opens up to the eyes of those who take the time to discover it: from now on, you will look at the city with different eyes!

Von Erkensruhr durch das Püngel- und Wüstebachtal

This tour takes you through the Püngel and Wüstebach valleys in the Eifel National Park. You hike from Erkensruhr through beech and mixed deciduous forests rich in deadwood, accompanied most of the time by the sound of one of the low mountain streams. The area is rich in flora and fauna. In spring, the daffodil blossom can be experienced, in summer the meadows become colorful thanks to the blooms of numerous wildflower species. At the beginning of 2017, a nature conservation project will come to an end here, which aims to pave the way for nature in the development national park to become wilderness. Some of the measures are visible and explained on the hike. The route consists of paved paths and small trails. The inclines and declines are not extreme, but a little surefootedness is required in a few places. All paths are marked on the hiking map. First you follow the Rur-Olef route upstream above Erkensruhr, then you follow the T3 themed tour, which you only leave for a short section that leads along the Püngelbach stream as a narrow path.
