Wolf Ritz created the bronze sculpture in 1985 to mark the opening of the Mayersche Buchhandlung's Treffpunkt Taschenbuch bookshop. The bronze figure is a lady sitting on a stone plinth, engrossed in the book open in front of her. With this work, the German sculptor wishes to draw attention to the need to engage with intellectual values.
